WVU and the Industrial and Management Systems Department offer a variety of safety training badges to provide advanced knowledge and skills to enforce a safe and thriving workforce. Participants learn specific workplace health and safety prevention and regulations. Organizations gain more qualified employees who can lead in workplace preparedness and safety.

Occupational Safety Leadership Micro-Credential Badge

The Occupational Safety Leadership badge micro credential focuses on developing leadership skills in workplace safety management.

Course Content

  1. Safety regulations
  2. Risk assessment
  3. Hazard prevention
  4. Program development to ensure compliance with federal and state safety laws
  5. Students will also learn about strategies for promoting a safety culture within organizations.

The assessments of these learning outcomes will come throughout the course varying in the form of case study reports, module quizzes, and examinations. The badge will be giving if the student earns a "C" or above 70% total point score at completion of the course.
