Dave is a native of Charleston, WV. Upon graduation, he worked at what is now the National Energy Technology Laboratory with Dr. Jack Byrd, Jr. In 1973, he joined ICI Americas in Wilmington, DE, as an Operations Research Analyst involved in consulting, market research and econometrics. Later he managed the data center for the pharmaceuticals research center. He received his Professional Engineering license in 1977.

In 1978, he was transferred to Houston, TX, to manage the production planning group for a new world scaled JV petrochemical complex. Over the next 32 years, he was involved in various acquisitions, mergers, and LBO’s. During those corporate changes, he held various executive positions that involved global crude oil/hydrocarbon acquisition for worldwide refinery and U.S. based petrochemical operations. Responsibilities included risk management, logistics, inventory management, accounting, trading and petroleum market analysis. In 2010, he retired as Senior Vice President Raw Materials Supply, LyondellBasell Industries.

He is married and has three children and three grandchildren. While retired, he has been active in various civic and academic activities. He has been a member of the WVU MSIE Advisory Committee and Academy. He is a Commissioner of a Brazoria County Emergency Services District. In addition, Dave is a Deacon at the Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX.
